“The University of Louisiana Monroe Foundation recently celebrated the creation of The Michael C. Echols Superior Graduate Scholarship Endowment, donated by Louisiana State Representative Michael Echols.”
The University of Louisiana-Monroe’s School of Pharmacy joined the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center and the Southern University Agricultural Center as one of three schools in the state that are now legally allowed to conduct research on marijuana and hemp.
“A proposal in the Louisiana Legislature seeks to clear prescription drugs for uses that federal authorities have not approved. But an amendment to the measure gives state officials the right to step in if any such prescription stands to harm the public.”
A number of area legislators were recognized as ‘valuable policymakers’ in the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry’s 2020 Legislative Scorecard last week.
